session variable

Global variable of a database system that contains information about the current context. The SAP HANA database has special ABAP-specific session variables whose content matches the value of specific ABAP system fields when accessed from ABAP. In CDS views, it is possible to access these ABAP-specific session variables on all supported platforms.
